Overview

To provide supervision of the arrival, seating and reservation experience to include pace, table and server rotation, and reservation optimization needed at full service/fine dining outlets in a manner that best represents the company image and quality standards.

Responsibilities

· Greet Guests in a friendly & courteous manner upon entering & exiting the restaurant.

· Assist with training of new hosts

· Gather necessary guest information needed to provide the best seating accommodations.

· Inform guests of information related to seating such as approximate wait times & offering suggestions for more timely seating.

· Assists Overall Flow and Seating. Provide guest seating in a courteous, safe, and efficient manner.

· Be an information resource to guests. Provide general information and/or helpful menu information and personal recommendations to assist with the ordering process.

· Continually communicates all seating needs to all appropriate management, server assistants, kitchen staff, & servers to ensure optimum seating is achieved.

· Delegate tasks to Host

· Process, Redeem, Sell Gift Cards

· Pre-plot reservations, VIPS, Large Parties, Call Parties, Guest Requests

· Know table combinations to ensure maximizing seating

· Do proper checks so turn times are accurate and adjustments can be made

· Control the pace and flow of the floor including rotating servers, avoiding double seating (10 minute intervals)

· Assist F&B Coordinator with large parties and PDR events to include:

o Directing the online form process and follow up

o Taking information to relay to the F&B Coordinator so a sertifi can be made

· Perform assigned side work developed to maintain general organization and cleanliness of the host station and all related areas.

· Organize, inventory, and sell retail items (if applicable).

· Coat Check

· Successfully complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Type Qualification
Experience Previous Experience in the restaurant or hotel industry
Experience Previous working experience with computers
Experience Worked with Open Table for a minimum of 6 months
Skill Strong communication skills are required to interact both person to person and over the telephone. Must speak clearly and have the ability to clearly articulate thoughts
Skill Must possess good listening and problem solving skills.
Skill Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment.
Skill Basic mathematic skills required to count money, make change, and ensure accurate inventory counts are recorded.
