Overview

This engineering/maintenance position will have responsibility and accountability for the upkeep and sustainability of various assigned properties in multiple locations. These properties include but are not limited to hotels in the Goldkey/PHR portfolio, retail spaces, support buildings and the Central Laundry building. Primary duties include but are not limited to performing preventive maintenance on all HVAC units of various sizes like split units, Ptacs/Vtacs, water source heat pumps, VAV’s and package units. Secondary duties include but are not limited to preventive maintenance, repair/service and replacement installation/removal of HVAC Systems along with pumps, heaters, ice machines, coolers and supplemental kitchen equipment. Specific trade knowledge and experience is required based on the needs of each assigned location. Former education in HVAC/Refrigeration required along with Universal EPA certification. Additionally, this position will also be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Preventive Maintenance documentation and scheduling for designated HVAC systems utilizing computer maintenance software. Strong computer skills required. Position will drive company provided vehicle and must possess valid driver's license and clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all existing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  • Install newly acquired equipment (AC & Refrigeration).
  • Relocate equipment as needed.
  • Electrical repairs and maintenance to mechanical equipment.
  • Order and receive materials related to assigned equipment and maintain orderly inventory.
  • Perform duties of Class I, II or III Engineer as needed.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering.
  • Coordinate outside assistance with AC/Refrigeration as needed.
  • Receives daily assignments from Chief Engineer.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:
    • Laundry equipment
    • Kitchen equipment
    • Air handlers
    • Pumps
    • Motors
  • Repairs all equipment as needed.
  • Repairs all in-unit items as needed on appliances, cabinetry, sleeper sofa, doors, etc.
  • May be asked to answer prompt response guest calls and make necessary repairs.
  • Makes all necessary room and public area repairs.
  • Provide General "handyman" skills.

Qualifications

ExperienceMinimum four years experience in AC/Refrigeration.
EducationTrade school or advanced training in HVAC. Require universal certification as dictated by AC/Refrigeration coolant laws.
SkillGeneral knowledge and experience in building maintenance. Able to handle building mechanical systems and controls, electrical systems and energy management system. May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
EducationAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma required.
EducationProfessional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc. preferred.
ExperienceSignificant experience with all maintenance disciplines.
